We absolutely love the holiday season here at Jules + Gem HI, and although things may feel a little different this year since we're still in a pandemic, we want everyone to try to enjoy the holidays with some of our favorite festive activities that are still fun and safe!
1. CAMPING UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE
Step 1: Get some soft blankets and cushions and lay them next to your decorated Christmas tree. Turn off all the lights except for your Christmas tree lights.
Step 2: Surround yourself with your favorite Jules + Gem HI candles, and just watch those lights twinkle.
Step 3: Grab a holiday children’s story that you enjoyed growing up and read it aloud!
2. BAKE SOME CHRISTMAS COOKIES
We found this stained glass cookie recipe on Pinterest, and are TOTALLY excited to make some this Christmas. Join us in doing some festive baking! Click the link HERE to get the recipe and bake with us.
3. WATCH A BROADCASTED/LIVE-STREAMED HOLIDAY CONCERT (SINCE WE CAN’T GO TO LIVE CONCERTS)
Watch Ballet Hawaii’s annual The Nutcracker performance!
What it is: Hawai‘i Public Radio presents a gift to our community with Ballet Hawaii’s The Nutcracker with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra. A long-standing, cherished tradition, The Nutcracker brings together two of Hawai‘i’s premier cultural organizations to present Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet uniquely set in Hawai‘i in a made-for-television event.
When: Saturday, December 19 at 7:00 PM; it will also air again on December 25 at 7:00 PM and December 26 at 3:30 PM on KITV Channel 4.
How: On KITV Channel 4
4. VISIT A HOLIDAY MARKET
In Hawai‘i, we have some holiday outdoor markets that are still operating even during this time. Support our small local businesses by visiting one of our faves, Aloha Home Market.
Cheers to the holidays and doing cozy + relaxing activities, all while spending time with loved ones!
