NEW YEAR, NEW APPROACH TO PERSONAL GROWTH

With a new year comes a sense of a fresh start, new-found motivation, and the opportunity for growth. But with that also brings the pressure to set brand new goals, make resolutions, and meet nearly unrealistic expectations for ourselves. Instead of potentially setting ourselves up for disappointment, we should approach this new season by giving ourselves the grace to grow at our own pace. 


Growth looks different for each person. It’s important to remember that as we continue on our own paths. Some people thrive in quick, high-pressure lifestyles while others flourish taking things one step at a time. Both are great approaches, and both will help us get to where we want to go. As we figure out where we land on this spectrum, let’s look at a few ways we can spark some personal growth.


  1. Gauge your comfort zone. Try something new or stick to what you love.
  2. Dedicate time for yourself. Take the time to do something you wouldn’t normally get to do or let yourself bask in relaxation.
  3. Seek inspiration. There are so many new things to learn, whether it be from the experiences of others or our own moments of reflection.
  4. Treat yourself. This can look different each time. Whether it be with a yummy treat, a new experience, or a long awaited purchase. Do something that fuels your happiness, which will in turn fuel your growth!
